Enhance your understanding and respect for Pacific cultures, values, and contributions within the workplace with our practical comprehensive e-learning course.

This course aims to build cultural competence by exploring the unique histories, challenges, and strengths of Pacific communities in Aotearoa. By fostering awareness, it encourages more inclusive practices, helping organisations create environments where Pacific staff feel valued and understood. The course also provides practical insights to support engagement with Pacific peoples in ways that are respectful and authentic.

Alignment with our Change Framework

Te Uru Tāngata's Theory of Change includes Respect as a core pillar, emphasising the importance of fostering workplaces where all individuals feel valued and understood. Within this framework, Respect means creating an environment where diverse perspectives, backgrounds, and identities are not only acknowledged but actively embraced. By promoting respect, the framework aims to establish a foundation of mutual understanding, allowing individuals to work together effectively and collaboratively.

The Respect component operates on the principle that meaningful change begins with genuine interpersonal recognition and appreciation. This approach encourages ongoing learning and self-reflection, helping people address biases and develop empathetic, culturally responsive behaviours. When applied to e-learning modules, like this one on Pacific peoples, it enables participants to connect with others in an informed and considerate way, driving an inclusive culture that respects and values diversity at its core.
